I would return this if I could.
I have many travel bags and enjoy selecting specific bags for specific trips. I wanted a general-purpose bag I could just grab and go, but this isn't it. Pros: organization. The organization was the main reason for purchase, and I like the tie-in spots for the small organization pouches. Cons: the shoulder straps! The straps slide, and the buckles have zero grip. When you purchase a near $400 bag, you'd expect quality fabric, zippers, and straps, but this bag has none of that. Every time I put the bag on, the shoulder straps would release and extend all the way out. This would happen when walking or going down stairs, and you would have to constantly pull to tighten or keep your hand on the strap so it doesn't come loose. The other issue is the zippers and lack of security lock integration. With the 45L, you will have to store the bag in the overhead or just in general, and there is no way to lock up any of the compartments/zippers. This would be incredibly easy to integrate or include and should be standard on all "travel bags" but not on this bag. This bag now sits in the back of closet where it will stay. Would not recommend to anyone for any travel scenario until these issues are fixed.

Perfect for Me
I bought this for a trip to Taiwan and it works just perfect for me. The dual side fits my packing style well. I like the top access into both sides. I like the expander part with room for the 16L stash. I bought the 35L to force me to pack light so the pack was stuffed. I'm 6' 0" with size 13 feet (big clothes) and it worked well. I would not have gotten the bigger size, but that's me. I really like the removable hip belt - sometimes I used it and sometimes I didn't - when removed, it fits into the bottom front pouch perfectly. The top front pouch is the right size. On planes, I'd take out the 16L stash, put what I needed on the plane in that and put the big pack in the overhead (with the backpack straps stowed) and kept the smaller one under my seat (works great). This past week, I took this on an overnight work trip and it worked just as well. I went to a museum before the flight home and it was not obnoxious.
