Jordan and Edra continue to work together in T.J. Nichols second book in the Mytho series and there's a number of scandals in San Francisco that need detective work. Political issues due to ignorance, bigotry and underhanded actions continue to make their detective work difficult, and it's not just on the human side. Not all mythos are ready to integrate into human society adding to the difficulties Jordan and Edra face as they decide the depth of their relationship. There's humor, like when the dragons relocate to a city park and the dog owners realize leashes are important, danger from the unruly sea folk, some "just deserts" for a few characters, and more emotional angst than in the first book. The multitude of problems are tangled together and the unraveling of "who dunnit" kept me interested and invested.
