This short style was popularized in the 1970s in Southern California and for a decade it was the staple of skateboarders, surfers, rollerskaters, camp counselors, Tom Selleck, and many more. DO NOT BELIEVE THE SIZE CHART. I don’t currently own any well fitting jeans so I took the advice of Hammies to measure my waist a little above my belly button and got 34in so I bought 34 size as was suggested by the instructions. Long story short, size was waaaaaay too big on me. I can’t exchange them and customer service is limited to an AI chat bot even through email. When I requested the customer service manager (offered by chat bot) I got no response.
Choose your size based off a well fitting pair of jeans not your exact waist measurement like they suggest. If you don’t have that, don’t buy them especially not on final sale.

Super cute and comfy, need a tweak to fit bigger thighs
I love these shorts. The stretch corduroy is great, as is the high waist and inseam. My only complaint is that they are not made for women with wider thighs relative to smaller waists. I have a 29” waist and 24” thigh circumference and have to go with the size 28 which is a bit of a compromise. It ends up being bunchy just below the waistband but fits my thighs okay. I’d prefer to size down to a 26 which fits my waist better, but that size is too tight at the leg opening, creating thigh rolls. I wish there was a version sized for curvier bodies like mine so I could be comfy without looking kind of frumpy.
