Great for paddling

This product fills a niche for paddlers of all types. I’ve used a clip watch as an important tool in the backcountry for years. This water resistant watch stays clipped to my PVD on daily paddles and long wilderness tours. For that job, I need to know that the carabiner pin is solid so the club won’t fail, and this new Dakota fills me with confidence. The cage protects the crystal from regular rough treatment on portages. The analog face is legible in low light and bad weather. I need the second hand as a medic. It’s great to know that the company will service the battery when needed. Five stars! I’d like to see a decent sized, working compass as an add-on to this watch (having read reviews complaining about the compasses on other models). I’d use it as a backup survival tool. I hope that future iterations will shave significant weight without sacrificing bomber construction. Until then, thank you Dakota for a great clip watch.
