My First Examen Board Book – Catholic Kids Devotional on Daily Examen Prayer

I loved the book; I gave it as a gift to my young nephew, who was just baptized. I love how the book introduces someone who is little to some of the key ideas of the Examen in a way that is accessible and meaningful.

The materials are good quality but I don't think the board book format is appropriate for the content. I think age 5+ would be great for starting examen but my kids were turned off by a board book as too babyish. As a board book, the amount of text would be difficult for toddlers to sit through/comprehend. I also think the Jesus in your heart turn wheel had a lot of blank space -usually those are used to rotate through multiple images.

We just received our first Examen book, and it’s already a favorite! It’s perfect for my almost 4 year old. He loves the illustrations and learning to pray along!
