This is a great UV Clarifier. I'm replacing an older version and have had great results with all my Russell Watergardens products.

I selected this product because it is a drop in replacement for my existing UV Filter that has failed.
I installed the new filter but experienced leaking from the water in pipe connection that required trouble shooting of the connector threads seal and the pipe connection.
After more time and research than I would expect for a drop in replacement part I resolved the problem. There has been a change in a part tolerance. The black plastic sizing reducer for the various pipe sizing options changed or was out of tolerance. Specifically the largest ring which I believe is for 2 ½ " pipe was smaller than in the past. This will likely not be an issue for new installations or newer replacement uses, but in older pond installations like mine the pipe has stiffened with time and the stainless steel hose clamp was unable to tighten the pipe hose tight enough to produce a secure seal. When I reinstalled the old pipe sizing reducer I achieved a tight seal and the leak was eliminated.
While I am happy it is resolved and my pond is clearing up, I am frustrated at the amount of time I spent on a plug and play replacement.
