I’m extremely happy with my 12” 4R PEC combination square. After trying a couple of other brands, I decided to give PEC a shot — especially after learning about the excellent blem deal that Harry J. Epstein offers. I couldn’t be happier with the result. The square is dead accurate, the rule glides smoothly in the head, and the tool just feels great in the hand. Everything about it feels solid and well made. As advertised, there are a few light grind marks from the blem process, but honestly I kind of like them. They give the tool a bit of personality and make me less hesitant to actually use it. It already feels “broken in,” so I’m not worried about putting the first scratch on a pristine tool. Fantastic value and a fantastic tool overall.
