I’m really enjoying my experience with this pen! This is my first stub nib and it behaves really well with sailor Shikiori ink. Smooth and plenty of sweet spot. I love the unique engravings that make it stand out from standard Jowo and Bock nibs that I have a dozen of. It compliments the detail in the cap ring. The pen body is made from very consistent ebonite. There are no obvious inclusions, voids, or off-black patches. It’s nicely polished too. The filling mechanism works as well as other pistons I’ve used and the portholes are a nice touch for viewing ink levels. I’m not sure how much ink it holds, but it seems comparable to a Schmidt converter or a bit more. All in all, this pen is a great value considering its craftsmanship, materials, novelty, and function vs cost. I got this at a great discount with the summer savings deal, but just ordered another at full price as a gift to a dear friend because of my impressions with this one.

great looking, but scratchy nib

I bought the Cephalopod together with a original fall F pen the original is great and i use it often. the nib of the Cephalopod F however is scratchy and i have to apply more pressure than i like to get it to writing. I tried different inks, which write even too wet with other pens like pilots or faber castels i own. I think i will keep the Cephalopod only because it is good looking, but unfortunately not for writing...
