Perfect Pocket Pen
The Dinkey is my favorite pocket-sized model from Gravitas’ current line. I prefer it to the Quark and the Pocket for EDC. It’s an excellent pocket pen; beautiful and weighty, easy to maintain, writes smooth… the cupronickel material is gorgeous. It’s bright and polished, and the nickel coloring is dominant, but catch it in the right light, and copper tones will shine through. Truly eye-catching.

Gravitas Dinkey Cupronickel - Extra Fine
Let me start with addressing some complaints about this pen. Yes there is a copper smell, but everyone should know any pen with brass or copper in the body will have the smell. There are other materials available if you do not want the “coin” smell. This Cupronickel smells a lot LESS than any Kaweco brass pens. My Dinkey has no problems posting, and the edges and threading are not sharp to me. The Dinkey is smaller than a Kaweco Sport, and has a better nib. Now my Kaweco Sports are cleaned out and sleeping in my pen case, retired. There are not many reviews on the Gravitas Dinkey fountain pen. Good thing the Pen-Venture YouTube channel has a detailed review of the Dinkey. The Dinkey is a very compact pocket pen with an excellent #6 full size nib. I really like how the cap does NOT SCRATCH the barrel of the pen, so if you buy the Dinkey with any beautiful colors/materials, there will not be wear marks from capping the pen. I like the Cupronickel because since this pen will be in my pocket, there will be humidity and this metal alloy is very resistant to rusting. If you are thinking about buying from Pen-Venture, be assured, this retailer is honest, has great communication, and I highly recommend.

Death trap improvement
I have 6 Gravitas pens now. I really want to like them, yet after 2 ergonomically pleasing but stubbornley leaking GP Pockets, my first Dinkey was the biggest disappointment: with the size of the Quark and the shape of the GP Pocket, I was hoping for this one to be the goldilocks FP, however, it proved to have the shortest life span of them all. The plastic inner sleeve, added as an improvement to protect the pen from scratches when posted, immediately got a 'fausse route' carved after posting then capping it for the first time. After capping it a few times to find 'the right groove', the section got unwound and is stuck inside it (along with the nib). Trying to het it out with a pair of pliers, is not a pleasant prospect, since that will only further damage the threads of the inner sleeve. I guess the sleeve got bumped or warped when capping. That happened too easily. The pen is out of order in less than a week of use. Great feel and format (5 stars), but suboptimal design, lacking in function (0 stars).
