Daytime Prayer

Fantastic supplement to the single volume LOTH

This has greatly aided my reading by providing the full daytime portions of the LOTH. Without buying the full 4-volume set, I feel that by using Christian Prayer and Daytime Prayer, and by leaning on an app for the Office of Readings, I am capturing most of the LOTH. That being said, I am still new to this, and trying to figure things out has been a challenge. Because of my relative inexperience, please forgive me if I'm missing something here. Nevertheless, for my current needs, this book is a great addition to the single volume. Once I'm more confident I'm doing things correctly, I plan to buy the full 4-volume set, though I'll wait until next year, when the new version comes out. Hope this helps.

Solid for traveling and continuing to hallow the day in between Morning and Evening Prayers. Very straightforward to use and a comprehensive hymn selection, too. There are a couple things that could be improved though: 1) The three daytime hours are fairly simple structurally, but this book could pose a bit of a learning curve for people who are just beginning to pray the Liturgy of the Hours. A page or two dedicated to an ordinary/guide could be very helpful for people starting out. 2) Ribbons. This book only comes with one ribbon - not bad for a book that only has about 400 pages, but there is a fair amount of page flipping that may need to be done on certain days past the psalmody. A couple tabs for the propers and maybe a bookmark are necessary here, at least for me. If a new edition were made, I think 3 ribbons would be perfect. Overall, it’s a fantastic little book! I’d highly recommend this for people who are looking to add small nuggets of prayer to their busy days.
