A treasure for daily lay devotions

It has all the readings, psalms, canticles and prayers that are needed for morning, evening and night prayer. In addition it has hymns, poetry, essays by church scholars, musical settings and calendars. It worth taking some time to read the rubrics and figure out how it's organized. Once you've gotten oriented, it very easy to pray the offices. Also I like having the physical book in my hands to help me stay focused. I know that picking it up is the beginning of prayer.

Excellent Prayer Guidance

I'm a Christian but grew up Catholic. My goal is to improve my prayer life so I am studying the liturgy of the hours. In speaking to a Catholic Monk it was recommended that I study the meaning of the liturgy before beginning my use of Christian Prayer. I'm doing that first but find that the Christian Prayer is an excellent resource for me as I begin this journey.

Great book

I have had a copy of this book for years. I use it every day I bought a copy to give to my brother-in-law who I hope we’ll also like it.
