Premium 6-7" Koi are shy!

3mm small food pellets do float for a long time, well over an hour or two. The beautiful 5 Koi I also purchased two weeks ago, are very shy to come to the surface in the 6' deep pond and so they sit under the feeding about 18" deep, where I dump the pellet fish food, and they wait till however long it takes the pellets to eventually sink down to about a foot, then they go for the pellets that they seem to be enjoying.
