Soft, clean, wonderful smell, and no contamination found by myself so far. I use this bedding as a mix in for a variety of species including garter snake, corn snake, hognose snakes and mice. Very happy with the product even if it may be slightly more expensive. It also has less issues/concerns with compaction and injuries during feeding.
