Double Width Log Cabin Blanket

This was a fun challenge for me, and I'm so happy with how it turned out. ❤️ Super grateful to Gist staff, who were quick to help me with a question I had about the pattern, which turned out to need some adjustment. (All good now!) One issue that arose for me (and maybe for all double width patterns?) was that the bottom layer got looser and looser as I advanced the warp, because it traveled a shorter distance than the top layer. I solved this by inserting two sturdy pieces of rounded wood over the two bottom layer warps, and tying them to the back beam to press them down and add tension. I'd love to know how others deal with this. I started to worry I'd run out of yarn, but I had a good amount left over. As Rachel says in the pattern, "slow and steady wins the race;" this isn't a quick and easy project, but it's well worth the time and effort.
