OK, Cobb…
So my experience of the rotisserie was an enjoyable one, overall - but with a few issues.
I attempted a 2 pound chicken with 12 Kingsford standard briquettes. Highest temperature soon as the briquettes ashed over was 505° F.
The bird came out beautiful. I prepped it with a small orange, bay leaves and marjoram compound butter in the cavity. It’s possible to crisp the skin by switching off the rotisserie for 8-10 minutes each 1/4 turn.
About 2/3 of the the way through the cook, the bird’s shifting weight on the spit caused the entire unit to rock and wobble with each rotation. Only the most stable of bases won’t result in the whole thing possibly falling over. I was close a few times.
Easily the least convenient aspect of all was how easily the rotisserie motor’s battery cover unlocks from vibration and disassembles. Cover and battery flying off multiple times was not good. A better method of securing the unit would s a must-do.
My periodic pauses to reassemble the rotisserie motor unit and to adjust the bird on the spit to prevent a fall, resulted in losing heat and cook time on the coals. I had to finish the bird in the oven. This first time was instructive. I will withhold judgement until I try it again. I don’t rule out user error on my part, with trussing and spitting the bird.
I could not reach a high enough internal temperature on the spit before the coals burnt out. So, one basket of fuel is was not enough this time. That’s important to know for next time. I’m ambivalent about lifting the spit and the rack to restock the fuel.
. I am still excited and optimistic about the Cobb with Rotisserie as a portable system. It certainly looks good and even elegant while it’s going, consistent with the lifestyle aesthetic you shoot for in your marketing. The Cobb next to the wine glasses on the boat and all that.
We’ll see….

Rotisserie
Great attachment. Did a slow roasted pork roast for several hours and had nice pulled pork sandwiches and pulled pork plates for several days. Will do again.
