Rhythm Dress in Noir | Black Vintage Tea-Length Dress

Beautiful. Sturdy fabric. Elegant neckline. And true to size. I was worried because I have a very substantial bust compared to my other measurements. But everything fit perfectly.

Beautiful, simple dress!!!

I bought this to wear for my graduation— I wanted something elegant and simple but not boring. This dress totally nails that! It is a little poofy under the gown but I thought it still looked cute and proportionate with the puffy sleeves of doctorate regalia (in case anyone else is considering this as a grad dress). I got so many compliments and it was so fun to wear, also not too hot under the sun and layers during the day itself. I would just note to future buyers: even the XS runs big if you are petite or a true XS. I’m 5’2 and usually an XXS or XS and this dress was snug at the waist but super roomy around the tummy and shoulders, as you can probably see in the pictures. Luckily my hair covered where it gaped in the back, so I wasn’t really bothered, but something to keep in mind. Only other con is that it’s wrinkly when it first arrives, so you’ll need to steam it, and it may get crumpley and foldy as you’re wearing it, but that’s kind of just the price of cotton and tulle. Overall, I loved and would highly recommend as a grad dress or any special occasion!

Perfectly classic dress, but only for the ideal body type

I ordered two Rhythm dresses in black, one S and one M. The S fit my tummy but was too tight on my chest to zip it up. The S was still too broad in the shoulders. On the other hand, the M fit my chest but sagged in my tummy. The shoulders were much, much too wide. I turned one of the gowns into a ball skirt, and I am re-pinning the bodice on the second one to fit my torso. I think if the bodice fabric had had some stretch to it, I wouldn’t have struggled so much with the fit. The size chart provided didn’t necessarily reflect the shoulder/chest/waist ratio of the dress design. That being said, it’s the perfect Audrey Hepburn dress and the ideal little black thing to keep in your closet for special occasions.
