Very good demerara flavor. Shipping was reasonably quick. One cannot make an extraordinary Planter’s Punch cocktail without an excellent demerara - simple syrup, even raw sugar simple syrups simply lack the depth of flavor. This is an expensive ingredient for such a small role, but when a perfectly crafted cocktail is the objective, not shots at the high top, only the best will suffice.
2oz Myers Dark Rum
1oz Plantation XO
1oz Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice
1oz St. Elizabeth’s Allspice Dram
1/2oz Demerara Syrup
Shake to blend all ingredients. Add ice and shake to chill. Pour into a lowball glass, garnish with orange slice, grate fresh nutmeg to taste.
