Sturdy bike rack

I purchased a 4 bike rack. I recently used it to transport 4 bikes on a camping trip from Ohio to Michigan. It was easy to put together. I could have used an extra hand on a couple of steps. My only real issue in building the rack was the holes in the bottom tube for the lower bar didn't match the diagram. The diagram showed 3 holes through the center of the post. Mine had 2 sets of 3 holes closer to each edge. I don't know if that was a design change that the instructions pdf just hasn't caught up to, or if it was some sort of manufacturing change. Anyway the lower arm still works as intended. I also didn't get the plastic caps for the ends of the tire racks on the top bar. I need to contact customer service about that. I had 4 bikes on the rack 1 adult 2 youth and 1 kids bike and it was rock solid over railroad tracks and potholes. Perhaps you could come up with a different pin to hold the rack vertical. There seems to be a bit of sway backwards and forwards with just the pin. I was using the rack with a small pickup so that wasn't an issue but I would be concerned for my read window if I was using an suv or van. I look forward to more trips with this rack. I feels and looks like it will hold up for years.

4 bike mount rack

It’s a strong, rugged bike rack. The video and written instructions that are available to the consumer, and posted on the web site are for a “Canadian” model. Makes assembly a lot more difficult. Very confusing and misleading. I didn’t realize the hydraulics don’t come with the rack, so I had to spend an additional $100 to get them.

Good value

It gets the job done. Installation was pretty easy, but instructions were related to the older version which was a little confusing. Many extra parts were left over after installation. The rack does its job well and holds the bikes in place just fine. I will say with four bikes on the rack, its a two person job to tilt the rack back up into place for hauling. Maybe the dual hydraulic arms would help with that, but I haven't purchased them yet. Overall I'm happy with it as I didn't want to spend over $1000 on a bike rack, but I wanted something sturdy and this works for me.
