Updated my BMW 2016 Route maps to the latest Prompt easy service online, clear instructions and 5 attempts allowed over 15 days n case you need it. The only glitch in the downloader app was that it installed everything in a folder on the blank USB. After moving the files to the root it worked. The car originally came with a 8TD code in the FA which showed in the online VIN checker. After removing that with E-Sys and recoding the BCD_Body, HU_Entrynav, Kombi, and KAFAS2 modules and hay presto - current speed limit information from the maps and camera appeared on the instrument display

Very easy to find the right version you need with the VIN checker. Once I'd figured changing the settings for the file on my computer it was all very easy to download onto a USB. Plug the memory stick in follow the prompts and it took half an hour to update. Very pleased

Simple and effective map update solution

My BMW is over 10 years old and the maps were the ones installed when it was built I think. Having spent a lot of time trying to navigate the what seemed myriad file types, trying to work out which I actually needed, I stumbled across OEM Navigation and their site provided all I needed to ensure I was getting the right maps for my system. Download and update were very simple and I am no longer spending half my time driving through fields because the maps predated quite a few roads I drive on.
