I can not rate anything but a 100% score. Why? *The boots: Hand made, stitched/ sewn sole and leather. Old school crafts. Leather of high quality, both the rigges leather on the outside and the soft thin leather lining on the innside. Pricy? Well, Yeah. But quality is’nt free, and they will last you much much longer than something cheap.. Du to the difference between US and european size definitions, my boots ended up one size too big. This brings me to next issue; *Service: never, ever have I been met with this kind of understanding, ease of communication, willingness to resolve a problem and not to mention the actual offer I was given to solve the issue.. And I live on the other side of the planet. There was also an international tax issue between the two countries, but we cooperated and Carl at Hector maden promptly took action and incoorporated the international VOEC taxation system (Vat On E-Commerce) into our deal. So, should you consider buying your forewear at Hector maden? Absolutely. I give them my unconditional top score!

Overall great boots!

I was looking at purchasing the Red Wing Engineer Boots but couldn't swallow the $500 price tag. I purchased these boots instead as the price was more palatable. I was unfamiliar with the brand but figured I would take a chance as the reviews were consistently positive. I could not be happier with my decision. These boots are on par with the Red Wing Engineer Boots. very nice leather well-made and heavy duty. My only negative would be that they do run a little large.
