1490 Doom - Core Rulebook (PDF)

Pros: - Each page is packed with interesting worldbuilding and rules snippets - Lots of attention to detail in worldbuilding, they've clearly spent time crafting their world and the atmosphere (no pun intended) is palpable - The rules are simple, fast, and offer lots of room for greater strategy to evolve from a relatively simple core gameplay loop - Great customer service and community, the devs are easy to talk to and very responsive Cons: - The title cover is shiny black on shiny black. While stylistically interesting, it's still difficult to read. - The book is small. Really small. You'll have to strain to read some of the smaller text. - The Dual-page spreads for the Combat Scenarios section feature some truly bizzare and indecipherable artworks that appear? to be maps from the period, but they amount to little more than a whole page dedicated to a zoomed-in name of a city or two, and don't add anything to the book. Overall, it's a great pick for low-fantasy fans, but paying $50+Shipping for the preorder left me disappointed for what I ended up getting.

I have the physical copies of the books that were in the kickstarter. Super cool game. My biggest complaint is that for the money, the books are way too small, and because of this, the font is almost laughably tiny. Seriously thinking about using a magnifying glass for game days!

fantastic set of rules for a very original skirmish game. The rules are laid out well and once digested, I only needed to refer to them for special situations.
