Syphon SoundPro

Brilliant. Extraordinary quality, super easy to install, extremely comfortable once in, and the “never permanent” promise is pure genius - as I am one that will be swapping this unit between helmets! Sound? On a scale of 1-10 we are sitting at a solid 7, and this could be skewed by my expectations. While the sound is clear, and delightful, they are not “banging” like some have claimed. I definitely recommend though! Well designed and super practical.

Essential to comply with French

I have always been an earphones wearer on my motorcycle, Bluetooth and with memory foam earbuds. French law does not allow earphones to be used in their country. My Syphon Sound Pro kit arrived before my European trip. I installed them which from the Syphon point of view was easy but from the helmet construction that was tricky, not the fault of Syphon. Once installed set up was really easy, connected to my mobile phone so quickly! Space inside my helmet was limited so I did not install the additional ear cups provided in the kit as I was worried about that creating too much pressure on my ears, but now I am home I will try them as I think they are a good idea to provide a more focused sound on the ears requiring lower volume levels and giving better sound quality. I used the system in England, Belgium, France and Germany and a short while in Luxembourg. I found the control module very easy to use and I prefer the twisting operation to push button type especially when wearing bike gloves. It was so easy to use, and volume level in the helmet was enough for me even when at motorway/freeway speeds and windy conditions. I did have foam ear plugs in my ears for wind noise but could still hear my GPS announcements and music really clearly. I do not use any headphone or helmet set to communicate bike to bike or passenger, and even though the Syphon has a microphone it is not a good set up for talking when on the move as the microphone is not near your mouth and must be in one of the speakers. I did try it once on a phone call but the other party could hardly hear me, I could hear them but I did not buy this system for communications, it did exactly what I needed on the bike, music and GPS notifications. In conclusion I love the simplicity of the kit, easy to connect, easy to operate, great volume, good sound quality. I am a happy bunny!

Well worth the money

Quality is really good. Can’t fault it. However, the speakers may not be as slim line as described. There’s no way I could even get my helmet on once I’d fitted the unit. I had to put it in my second helmet which is slightly bigger. No real complaints other than that. Battery life is incredible. No loss of sound at speed and more than adequate base. Took over a month to get here but if you know that before ordering, it’s fine
