YU01

MU01 and YU01 are both excellent keyboards

I bought the MU01 and the YU01. Out of the box without any modification the feel and sound fantastic. The MU01 is satisfyingly thocky (lower freq deep sound). The YU01 is more marbly (higher freq sound). The MU01 key caps are more rounded, more smooth. The YU01's key caps are nice but have more defined edges (nothing overly sharp). The YU01's looks are stunning in RGB, because of the semi-transparent milky base and key caps. It lights up in vibrant deep and full color. The materials wood and resin have a much more pleasant look and feel than cold hard aluminium. The MU01 is lighter, the YU01 is a bit heavier, but not nearly as heavy as some solid aluminium keyboards. It's nicer to use a not so heavy keyboard. Both ANSI keyboards can be used with a German ISO layout. All German special keys are available (ä, ö, ü, ß). Yes, the printing on the key cap doesn't always match the corresponding German key, but you get used to it fast. I learned where every key is without even looking at the keyboard. The only key that is not immediately available is the less/more than key (<>|). That is no problem, you can add that key on the 2nd layer. Just map the "NUBS" function to a “fn+x” key (e.g. I mapped it to the "z" key in the lower left corner – so “fn+z”). The typing experience on these keyboards is so incredibly pleasant. Typing feels great and the sound is even better. In fact, it is so addicting that I find excuses to type more. Also, they look good aesthetically on the desk. My previous keyboard was 75%. I found the 65% layout to be the sweet spot. I do not miss the extra function key row, as the F1-F12 keys are easily accessible via the function key modifier (e.g. fn+F2). These are excellent keyboards. Haptic, sound and aesthetics are truly fantastic. Highly recommended!
