Bought to have a hands-free lead for small dog (terrier X, 7kg). Works well for going around the waist. Has a rubber bit to hold on too but I think this is too low - would be better if could this bit slide along the lead or if it could be closer to the waist section so can grab the lead more easily when needed. Length is great for if dog is good at jogging/heeling; a longer lead is more helpful for those who like to stop and sniff.
