Disappointing use-by dates

Unfortunately the three pack came with a disappointing use by date. We like the jam but sadly won’t have enough time to finish off all three before the use-by date. My partner wiil need to give one away as he won’t be able to get through all three. While this is fine, it’s not great as it was a gift for him. Could’ve done with a warning on the use by date - would have bought one or two rather than three : (

As this is a Christmas gift to a relative I am unable to comment although in the past such gifts have been much appreciated
