Love the Pants, Hate the Top

I've worn Softies pjs and gowns for years, and I have loved the items I've bought. However, I do not like the top of this pj set. It has way too much material, and it seems almost like a maternity top. I understand loose fit, but this is so much more than that. The pants fit perfectly, and it seems odd for the top to be so big and so long.
