Another Foragers Knife Option
Having built many foraging knives on the 58mm Laurin stainless blade, I wanted to try this out. The slightly longer blade works well in the field. Compared with the Laurin 58, this blade is a little thinner. It will be interesting seeing how the thinner profile and the 440b stainless holds its edge. The thin blade makes for a challenge in making a tight fitting front plate (for those of us who don’t own a machine shop). One extra step required, for my builds, when using this blade is squaring the tang to the shoulders of the blade. The mfr designs this where the tang and shoulder meet at an angle. Some work with my grinder and file guide square things up. All-in-all, I still rank this one as another keeper and addition to my lineup of foragers knives.
