Coumarin like no other!
Coumarin Nat. ex Cassia is complex and surprisingly rich. This is a good example why one might require a natural over synthetic, even when dealing with single molecules for certain formulas. This offering is seriously good. Evaluating at 10% solution, I first get a robust note leaning towards leather, spice and opoponax evoking the dry-down of Guerlain’s legendary Jicky. After a while, I get a joyful, naturalistic dried hay + sweetgrass note which I am very familiar with as I used to pick it all summer when I lived in the arctic side of Norway. Finally a delicious custard-note comes forth, just like biting into a warm, freshly baked Pastel de Nata, generously dusted with cinnamon powder. No cherry-tobacco notes, if that is what you seek, go for a regular quality AC.
