Happy with BYD dash camera

Very happy with the camera, but disappointed no information with it, luckily I found a super easy video on YouTube showing step by step how to install.

The dashcam was tricky to install into the MY26 Seal as finding and releasing the cable in the headlining was tricky. Once installed while the dashcam works, manual activation of recording within the DVR app is required unlike the earlier MY25 where it automatically starts recording when in D or R. Hopeful that a BYD software update will resolve.. however with this issue having to remember to manually start recording before driving isn't ideal.. I have forgotten a number of times.. and that is likely going to be just the time I need it recorded! I have also noticed that when the microsd is full that it does not overwrite old footage and the microsd needs wiped. Also noticed that the DVR recording stops recording intermittently while driving and have to start recording again.. I have tried two different high endurance sandisk microSD's and both exhibited this issue.

Everything worked great - but checked your 2025 Seal first!

Ordered the dash cam + cable for my 2025 Seal as from my research I didn't think a 2025 Seal came with the wiring pre-installed and tucked away like the earlier models. When I came to install, I was surprised to find the cable was already there - so if you have an early 2025 Seal, maybe check first. Anyway - the camera module appeared to be a genuine BYD part, as did the cable. Easy to install when following videos on YouTube. Everything worked great.
