Looks great. It was a fun time building it - I think some parts of the guide are a bit vague, but between everything it is pretty intuitive and extremely well organized. Pros: - The lights work great, and i really like the use of colors in the lightposts - I really like how the "glass" is done here, out of the different nooks I've built, the windows are definitely some of the best set up here - Really good ambiance and honestly just a vibe - I like the loose items you can organize yourself - The lights and ornaments are finnicky to put up, but honestly adds a ton to the piece Areas for improvement: - better clarity on the wood labels (they were quite hard to read) - The lanterns being paper needing to be glued was quite finnicky - The hooks used for stringing lights were pretty difficult to maneuver, the thick wire sort of snapped part of the wood anchors but i was able to glue it back on the sides - Some of the guide is a bit vague and i accidentally had a few things where i locked in a piece on the wrong side or orientation (e.g you will see left wall in my image, no clue about this until the end). I think overall it still worked out great. I'm relatively new to building nooks so I think this is a good option for people trying different builds as they get into the hobby.

TLDR: GET IT, it’s worth it. This was my first DIY book nook kit so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’m a very crafty person, love traveling, reading and architecture BUT I had never got my hands on anything like this. This book nook was the perfect intersection of all those interests! I absolutely loved building it! First I thought it was gonna be complex but it was surprisingly a joy to put together. Every time I sat down to work on it I felt relaxed, engaged in what I was doing and rewarded by each piece I put together. When I finished it, I couldn’t believe I DID THAT (and even wired it what!!)! It looks so cute on my bookshelf and my boyfriend loved it too. The instructions were clear. It comes with all the parts and tools you need to build it (very thoughtful!). I had a minor question at the end and the customer service was very responsive and helpful. I will definitely be adding it to my gifts to give list for upcoming birthdays and holidays.

Tokyo Alley is a beautiful nook and was a lot of fun to make. Customer service was excellent- I had no problems but I did have a few questions, and Eric got back to me within a day or less. He also translated all the signs for me. The wiring was very easy especially compared to other kits and the lighting is spectacular. The manual was well-written and is also available as a PDF which makes it much easier to read because I can enlarge the print. Including a basic toolkit was a nice touch, especially the tiny magnetized screwdriver for the even tinier screws. I sand and paint the edges, and I did a good job of matching the brickwork. Looking forward to the next nook from Bookshelf Memories.
