Pricey, but Worth It!
First let me say I am not paid for this and receive no compensation whatsoever. I hesitated to get these for pickleball since they cost a fair bit more than I usually pay for protective eyewear or sunglasses, but my first time on the court with these made me instantly happy to have bought them. I live in So.Cal., where we generally have sun but also often have clouds/overcast. Furthermore, the courts I play on have some partial shade that shifts around during the morning, but only on some courts. In the past, I would sometimes have to swap out eyewear if I found that I was on one of the shaded courts when it was my turn to play. If the sun was obscured by coulds in the middle of a match, then I might just play with degraded vision (my old eyes need more light now), which affected my performance notably. These Ria photochromics have made me a believer in more expensive eyewear, however: I never take them off on the courts; I never feel like there's not enough light or that the light is too bright; there is no noticeable distortion (I could notice some with all my less expensive glasses); and these are actually safety tested (my old clear glasses were, but my sunglsses were not). I value my eyesight (more than ever, having lost some hearing), and eye injury is about the only injury you can get playing pickleball that you might not recover from. Protecting my eyesight is worth it - and these let me see the game better than ever!

Tennis glasses
I have been using the original model one and wanted to try the transition lense. At first I was disappointed because the transition lens were not as dark. I have found that I need both depending on bright sun or cloudy days. Very happy with my glasses!

Outdoor Squash
I bought several pairs of RIA's in support of Maspeth Squash, an outdoor facility built by Robert Gibralter in Queens, NY. Robert is an ardent RIA fan so it's a true win/win to support his tournament events for professional and amateur players alike!
