The bars look great on my motorcycle., but I'm not entirely sure that they will protect the bike if I drop it.

Highway bar installation
The lower mounting holes had to be modified considerably to accommodate the bolts. The holes were off by about 3/8". After modifications, the bar mounted perfectly and does look good. If I happen to drop my Chieftain, (hopefully not) I will post if it works successfully.
