Works like its supposed to. I don’t know what the deal is the last couple of years but the chains seem like it don’t take anything to throw them off. Every time it does it hits my leg and cuts my pants. Since installing the chain catcher it doesn’t hit me anymore.

Bought this chain roller with the 4 point felling dogs for my Stihl 462.
My 462 already has a chain catcher so it is basically there to add support to the bottom of the larger felling dogs. Left the original one on.
When I installed the cover with the new felling dogs the roller guide doesn’t
spin freely, but doesn’t really seem to matter, it will still work.
The videos on installing the felling dogs and the chain roller are very helpful.

WCS Chain Roller
Being on the East Coast, we don't run bars a mile long like you West Coast guys (and gals). About the longest I run is a 25". The chances of a chain coming off is really slim. Hasn't happened in almost 50 years of running saws,KOW. I put the rollers on for support of the felling dawgs.
