i am a veteran seasoned smoker for the past 35 years. currently have a propane and smaller electric smoker. wanted one larger smoker to fit all my smoking needs. i had many technical questions before deciding on the s45e. branden the tech at haka bros was wonderfully helpful answering all my questions before and after my purchase. the smoker arrived and met my expectations. tall enough for us to smoke raw whole bacon slabs and works great for just dinner meals. i also bought the side generator for cold smoking. only negative at this point is the unit is a little flimsy when the door is open. however when you close the door it seats itself in position to sturdy up the unit.. i would recommend this smoker for a new or seasoned person wanting to smoke all types of foods.

Versatile

I bought this to add more smoke flavor to my pellet grill, and hopefully use on my gas grill for smoking cheese, nuts, fish and more. I always had a better smoke flavor with an electric smoker burning sawdust and chips than with the pellet grill. My hunch was right. I smoked cheese and nuts for just 30 minutes and it was smoked very nicely. Even though I haven't tried it yet on some ribs on the pellet grill yet I know it's going to help with the pellet grill too. Very nice well built product!
