Blessed Assurance

We just purchased a baby grand for our past wedding Anniversary, I was looking for some new enjoyable pieces to learn and play. How wonderful this piece was written to make it in depth and yet easy to meditate on Gods’ word as you play. Thank you to us as intermediate players to enjoy such a beautiful piece of music 🎶

Lovely, simple arrangement! I mostly appreciate the subtle additions of notes in the G and C chords. For example, including an A and D in the C Major chord (on the first "Jesus"), and then inverting the G Major chord and adding an A (in "salvation") made for a beautiful and unexpected sound. I normally prefer arpeggiated notes (as opposed to block chords), but when played slowly and with sensitivity, this arrangement can be moving and intimate. I enjoyed playing the melody of the second verse with the left hand, and I suspect discerning congregants notice and like that nuance as well. Thank you, Zach, and keep those arrangements coming, as we church pianists need all the resources we can get for preludes, offertories, and communion. Thanks again!
