A review for present-buyers, by a present-buyer.
So firstly, take the rating with a giant heap of salt. I haven't read these books and likely won't, because I'm not into romance.
I bought the bundle for my Girlfriend, who does like romance novels, based on how much her and I both love Ms Wheatley's social media content, her approach to writing, the general blurb and character things that have come up on SM, and her dislike of a bunch of tropes that we also dislike.
So I can only speak to my girlfriend's reaction as I see it, which is probably the most useful thing for someone buying presents without a specific list, right?
So firstly, make sure the intended recipient actually likes fantasy romance. Not everyone does. Not every woman does.
If they do, buy them these books! (assuming they haven't already read them)
Based on my GF's devouring them, staying up much later than she should reading, continual comments about how good they are, without even stopping to tell me about the plot which I was very much hoping she would (and said so), I think I can safely recommend them.
For reference, some other authors she likes are: Terry Pratchett, Becky Chambers, Anne McCaffrey, Jaysea Lynn, Jim Butcher... I couldn't say about relative quality, but she's smashed out the first couple about as fast as she devours Dresden, which is high praise.
