The sail is excellent in all aspects but one... It is well-sewn, well reinforced, attractive, and reasonably priced. But — the gate clips that attach to the backstay don't work well with 3/8" rigging. You can get the clip over the stay easily, and it seems there will be plenty of room for the stay inside the crook of the clip; but the gate that swings inward cannot clear the diameter of the stay to swing back out. It can — barely — if you jam the tip of the gate against the strands of the backstay and lever it over by force. But that is very labor intensive at a time when the wind is howling and you really just want to get the sail up. I will be cutting these gate clips off and tying on snap shackles. Not a big deal ultimately, and I do love my new riding sail!
