It's a real step up from the sidekick
The sidekick is nice, no doubt. Have used it over a year. But I ended up needing more room Unsure why. Mission creep. The pilot is a very nice upgrade in size and material. I prefer the handle placement on the Pilot over the sidekick. As we are into the holiday season, it is a solid gift option for the person you think might need it.

Great bag
Never had issues with any of their bags, it fits my piece perfectly and the rest of my stash. Only issue I had is after ordering they let me know it was out of stock in black, and offered it in the available camo blue. Still highly recommend the bag.
