Single Cylinder Vacuum Engine

It was fantastic! I assembled it the first time, and it worked exceptionally well. I can’t be certain if the RPM was as expected, but there was one issue. The piston would detach during operation, even at idle speed, and break from the rod. The wheel also tended to detach, but I fixed both problems by applying some glue and lubricating it. Now, it idles smoothly.

My 8-year-old grandson built the kit. He used a few drops of super glue on the piston assembly to hold it together and lubricated the cylinder with oil. It worked fabulously! He has since been adding other mechanisms and experimenting. My brother went ahead and ordered a couple 2-cylinder vacuum motors for Christmas.

Bought for my 9 year old son who absolutely loved his Build of a piston engine. He has to use my hoover to power it and is absolutely fascinated by it. Delivery was faster than expected. I will be shopping here again.
