Ernest

The quality of the Ernest is much better than I was expecting at the price point. These are my first pair of shoes from Septieme Largeur; I ordered online. I was a little worried about the fit, given the patina shoes are not exchageable. The sizing advice on the website was accurate and the shoes are a perfect fit. The olive contrasting patina is beautiful and the calf leather used is top-notch. I've received a compliment each time I've worn the shoes now. The patina customizations offered ensure a pretty unique product that you're very unlikely to see on anyone else (at least here in the States). This particular last is refined and timeless. The shoes seems to have molded to my feet over the first 3-4 wears and are very comfortable. They wear easily all-day at the office without wanting to take them off. Really nice craftsmanship and little details, like the nails in the soles at the toe and the waist. I'll definitely be looking to add another pair from Septieme Largeur.

I bought the Ernest boots with a custom patina. When I opened the box that evening, the boots seemed a little dull. But in brighter light, and particularly after I had shined the boots, they lit-up as I had first anticipated. The size ran slightly large, which is better than slightly small. When I wore a thicker pair of socks, the boots fit great and looked even better.
