Nice bag but needs more

I spent a lot of time researching bags and decided on this one even though it is pricey. I've had it for about a week and I like it a lot, but as pointed out by other reviewers, none of the pockets contain anything to hold smaller items like pens, so they could spill out if you don't keep the bag upright. There is no padded pocket if you're looking for one for your laptop either. Also kind of tough to cram a water bottle or small umbrella. It's a nice bag but at $500, it's missing some features I think most people would want.

RUGGED and HIGHLY FUNCTIONAL… All around quality

The canvass is rugged, not flimsy. The hardware is rugged, not flimsy. NO PLASTIC TO BE FOUND on this briefcase. A large life-time brass zipper that could possibly outlive the rest of the materials (Zippers, especially nylon or plastic zippers are the weakest link in most bags/stachels/briefcases - but not on this). I use it for court, to travel, for meetings, depositions, etc. I keep legal papers, 2 iPads (I have a reason), a Remarkable pad and legal files which fit perfectly. The side pockets are large enough to “actually be functional” beyond shoving folded papers inside. It has much more volume/capacity than what I first thought when I got it. All around, I love it more than my Mont Blanc brief case that retailed for $1850 (I had more money than sense at the time). I just love this briefcase.
