It's fine. The beam is a rectangle, and it spreads out a lot more than I expected. At 200 ft, the beam is slightly bigger than a piece of paper, so this cuts down on its reaching distance. I also ordered the 5x beam expander. It kind of changed it from a laser beam to a flashlight.
