I was really drawn to the design and aesthetics of the SOM Studio harness, but unfortunately the functionality didn’t live up to expectations. The main issue is the hardware. The metal components are extremely heavy, which makes the harness feel bulky and stiff once it’s on the dog. Because of this, the harness sits awkwardly on the body and feels uncomfortable, especially for smaller dogs. Instead of moving naturally with the dog, the weight of the hardware pulls the harness down and restricts ease of movement. While the craftsmanship and visual appeal are there, the overall heaviness significantly affects wearability. For a product meant to be worn daily, comfort should come first, and in this case, the harness feels more decorative than practical. I wouldn’t recommend it for dogs who are sensitive to weight, smaller breeds, or for longer walks.
