Marquise GS Violin

Great bow

I love this bow. Just upgraded from the Diamond NX and there is a significant difference in the weight, feel, and sound produced. This bow is well balanced and very supple which works well with my violin.

Because I am not based in the continental United States, accessing Codabow’s in-person trial program was difficult. For that reason, I decided to take a leap of faith and purchase the Marquise GS directly. After receiving the bow and trying it for the first time, I immediately fell in love with it. Not only does it bring out a more beautiful and resonant tone from my violin, but it also resolved several technical challenges that had long felt cumbersome to me. Passages where I used to feel tension or resistance suddenly became effortless with this bow. I have also noticed that the sound continues to improve the more I play with it—almost as if the bow and the instrument are growing together. Its stability, playability, and the reassurance of a lifetime warranty make the experience even more remarkable. I am truly grateful to Codabow for the research, craftsmanship, and dedication that went into creating such an exceptional product. It has been a joy to play, and I am delighted to have the opportunity to enjoy a bow of this quality.

Just What I Was Looking For

My pernambuco bow was often stuttering and bouncing too much on what should have been long, smooth down bows. I suppose that could be a problem with my technique, but this CodaBow performed much better in these situations without sacrificing the ability to bounce when needed and without sacrificing sound quality. There are recordings online of top professionals who, if you listen carefully, seem to be having the same problems I was having, and they are probably using bows costing many thousands of dollars. Maybe they should try a CodaBow!
