Reading Isn’t Optional: Fulfilling the Promise of Literacy for Secondary Students

As a middle school teacher, I have felt the pain of receiving students who can't read at a seventh grade level. I am completing a book study with this book and hope to learn some ways to improve my students' reading ability.

I signed up for the summer book study thinking I didn't need the book, but the intro was so good that I bought it before it was over. I've already shared it with my admin at school. I am the dyslexia therapist and interventionist at a private school.

Great resource. Just wish my administrators would have joined this book club. So many kids struggle to read and there are so many things we can be doing. Thanks!
