ComfortCradle Orthopedic Dog Bed

Our 8-pound chocolate Dachshund loves curling up in the mudroom after a walk, but a folded throw kept bunching under her when she turned around. The Light / S ComfortCradle bed fits neatly beside the storage bench without blocking the doorway. The pale ivory cover is soft and fluffy, and the raised bolsters give her a comfortable place to rest her chin. She circled once, settled against the side, and now uses it for short naps after we come inside. The S size is a good fit for curling, although she cannot fully stretch out, so a larger dog would need more room. The light fabric shows leaves and darker fur quickly, but I can vacuum the seams and remove the cover for washing. Five stars for the cozy feel and compact size.

Our small dog likes to sleep under my desk while I work, so I put this bed beside the chair instead of leaving her on a folded blanket. She took a few days to get used to the raised sides, but now she curls up in the middle and often rests her chin over the front bolster. The shaggy fabric feels very soft, and the layered center is more substantial than the thin mats she used before. The two rounded front bolsters leave an easy entry, while the taller sides give her something to lean against without making the bed enclosed. It fits her curled-up naps well, though she reaches over the front when she wants to stretch out. The base keeps it from sliding much on our hardwood, although I still straighten it after she circles and rotate it when one side gets more use. Fine curls and desk dust collect in the long pile, so I vacuum it and follow the removable-cover wash instructions, letting it dry fully before putting it back. It is warmer and deeper than a flat summer mat, and the cover is not liquid-proof, so I keep it away from her water bowl. It has made a comfortable little sleeping spot, but a sprawler would need a larger bed.

The cushioning feels soft on top, but it still gives him enough support that he is not constantly circling before he lies down. I also like the raised sides because he uses them like a pillow when he naps in the afternoon. The cover was a little bulky to put back on after washing, but it cleaned up well and the base stays put on our wood floor.
