Small Plates Sets for Old Hands
I purchased the small plates soon after getting my Empress Elite. The full Size are just too much for my old hands and small crafting space. Plus all of my dies fit the small plates with room to spare. Overall, I'm sorry I waited so long to convert from the electric to manual die cut machine. After a month, my magnetic plate looks like heck so I hope that's replaceable. Also, I thank Jennifer McGuire every time I hit that forward button.

Convenient smaller plates work beautifully

A cut above.
I sent for the small Empress full plate set to go with my Empress Elite machine which I had been able to order from Hobby Maker who are now stocking the machine with a UK plug. The Empress Elite has replaced another machine which I had only had for a year, which a famous crafter put his name to, which bananas plates after about ten cuts and curves all my expensive and treasured dies. I had bought the Anna Griffin Vignettes dies and four sets of the vignettes papers. I always make interactive Christmas cards, about 60 this year, I found more ladies, a father Christmas and a Rudolph who stand up on acetate, and a stable on the back of the card and numerous toys and decorations, some AG some other. I was so unwilling to let all my hard work go bananas I took a deep breath and bought the Empress Elite. The first thing my husband noticed was how quiet the machine is. He can still watch television, if I am die cutting nearby. I notice that it is a workhorse. Neigh! Yes! Neigh! Yes! (pantomime season). I have made about sixty times ten (at least) passes through the machine to cut everything out. (It takes a couple of weeks, I am now at the sticking stage) The original long plates are still useable (though |I have bought a new set to replace and the little set that will go through sideways, quickly) and, amazingly, when plentifully swapped and changed with each other, after 600 (at least) passes the long plates that came with the machine are STILL FLAT! I love this machine I love these plates! The magnetic plate is a stroke of genius, it would usually take me a week longer to cut everything out, using low tack tape. I have kept the previous machine for the rare occasion when I want to use steel rule dies (usually to make thick card boxes. I've been making my own miniature articulated porcelain dolls for 33 years, the boxes are for them.) They are work. Thin dies are for fun, and, now I have a machine and some brilliant plates that actually do the job, it's fun without the bad language. If you had the brilliant idea of magnetic plates, you are the genius I always thought you were Anna. The Empress magnetic plates make the making beautiful! Oooh you are clever! Well done and thank you. Can't send a picture, still making 60 annagenius folding doll houses for friends and family.
