Quality Safe

Excellent product, solidly built. Totally worth the slight upcharge to get an American-made product versus the Chinese built junk being sold by Sentry on Amazon or at the big box stores. I know - I ordered one of those Sentry safes and promptly returned it because a) it wouldn’t open and b) I was almost able to jimmy it open with a crowbar while trying to figure out why it wouldn’t open. This safe is a tank and NO ONE - not even King Kong or Godzilla - is ever going to be able to force it open. It worked like a charm right out of the box; the dial mechanism silky smooth; the directions to open the safe were crystal clear, and I had it open and working in one try. I have high confidence that if there’s ever a disaster at our house (total loss due to fire); our documents kept inside this safe will stand a high chance of surviving and being recoverable/usable in the aftermath.

Nice Safe but read on...

The safe and vault store has excellent customer service. They kept me informed as to when my back ordered safe would arrive. Great company to do business with. The safe is very nice and heavy. The combination lock numbers are easy to read but the lines between the numbers are extremely hard to see. The lines are recessed and we can hardly see them but we are able to open it. The lines should go at least half way across the dial. The other concern we have is there is a 1 inch hole completely through the bottom of the vault. It is to secure the safe to a concrete floor and comes with a bolt to do so. If you just sit the safe on a wood floor or carpet we figure your paper items would burn. The door also has some play to it. If the door is able to move wouldn't heat be able to get in? There's not a door seal like wood stoves have. Not convinced this is a 2 hour fire proof safe after getting it here and unboxed, but we're going to hope for the best and use it because it's too heavy and hard to return.
