Perfect for Backpacking!
I just received my Sierra rod and headed out for a few days backpacking in the Sierras. This rod worked great fishing the many small steams there. Compact, high quality set-up!

Great product.
Good quality materials make good quality products. I’ve had the rod for probably nine or 10 years, but managed to displace everything I needed to use the rod.

Backpacker UL Joy!
I am beyond stoked that I decided to try my hand at fly fishing! Bringing this Tenkara rod on my four-day ultralight backcountry trip into the Enchantments absolutely made the journey such a treat. Believe it or not, I fished the same fly the entire trip and caught more than 20 trout in the many alpine lakes we passed along the way. I couldn’t believe how simple—and FUN—it was. I also purchased a little line holder from Amazon—basically two large buttons connected with elastic—which made it super easy to figure-eight the fishing line for safekeeping. Even with the line holder attached, the rod still fit perfectly inside its neoprene protective cover. I’m absolutely hooked (giggle) and can’t wait to become more proficient at this sport. The rod added another whole dimension to an already incredible backcountry adventure and made the trip even more memorable. Now I’m officially obsessed…and already scouting out fishing spots back home in Utah. 🎣
