Good stopping power

Quite a lot of hand fitting had to go into to them to get them to fit properly. The web on the front shoes is a little bit wider that the outgoing shoes. This resulted in the springs rubbing on the ribs in the drum. After cleaning up the spring holes and de-burring them there was no interference. The pivot cups were un-machined and needed considerable work with bluing compound and a round file to get right, on both axles. The rear ones were bad enough that the shoes would not fit in the drum with the cams at their neutral position. Having said that, the compound is good. After bedding them in, the stopping power quite good. They’d be a good deal if the manufacturer had hit he pivots with an end mill.
